However, the Energy Performance Certificate remains a Mandatory Requirement when a property is marketed for sale. The EPC must be commissioned prior to commencement of Marketing and the Certificate must then be made available within 7 days. The first page of the EPC must accompany any written particulars of the property. An EPC is now also a requirement with a Non Marketed Sale.

 Landlords are also required to ensure an EPC is commisioned prior to Marketing and the Certificate made available at the earliest opportunity to potential Tenants. An EPC must form part of the Rental Agreement and a copy provided to the tenant.
